The Experience

There are retreats. And then there's this.

It is about going somewhere neither of you has gone before, together, with intention, in a setting that holds you completely while you do it.

Even the deepest love operates partly through old filters. Long before this relationship existed, each of you formed beliefs about love itself: what it means to be safe, to be seen, to be enough. Those beliefs were shaped early, by the ways love was modeled and the ways it sometimes fell short. Without realizing it, we carry those unresolved parts into everything we build. It is not a flaw. It is human. But it means a certain layer of intimacy stays just out of reach, not because the love is not there, but because part of each person is still standing slightly behind the door.

This retreat is designed for what lives behind that door. You go beneath the surface together, into the early experiences that quietly shape how you love. As you see yourselves more clearly, you see each other more clearly, and the places that once felt like incompatibility begin to reveal themselves as old wounds: understandable, human, and workable.

Medicine enters as a deliberate catalyst for that depth, administered by a psychiatric nurse practitioner and supported by an experienced guide throughout. The armor that once protected you also limits how fully you can be known, even by the person you have trusted most. The medicine lowers those defenses gently, so you can reach the truths you have been carrying and offer them to each other in a held, safe space. Seen that completely, and loved anyway, something heals at the root, and integration support afterward turns the insight into a new language between you.

Who, Format & Setting

Who this is for

This isn't for couples in crisis. It's for couples who love each other and know there's more. More honesty, more intimacy, more of each other. If you've left a group wellness weekend inspired but unchanged, this is what you were looking for.

This is for the couple ready to grow together, to step into a deeper connection you didn't think was still reachable. You arrive Thursday evening, and you leave Sunday morning with something you can't unfeel.

Maple Grove Hot Springs, Southern Idaho. Sixty riverfront acres in the Caribou-Targhee National Forest, natural mineral hot springs, a Nordic sauna, and the quiet that only exists three miles down a dirt road. Two hours from Salt Lake City, a world away from your regular life.

Why nothing else is like this

There are wellness weekends. There are clinical intensives. There are psychedelic retreats. None of them were built for couples. None of them hand you a map of yourselves before you walk through the door. Vicuña holds all of it.

The Team

Who holds the weekend

Your lead facilitator and two founding couples, built by people who have lived it themselves.

Bernice Hoskins Tenort
Lead Facilitator · LCSW, RNC

Bernice Hoskins Tenort

Bernice Hoskins Tenort has spent more than three decades helping people find their way back to themselves, first as a nurse and now as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and trauma therapist.

Read moreRead less

She began at the bedside as a nurse in 1993 and moved into nursing leadership before opening her own private practice. She holds a Bachelor of Nursing from Aspen University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Utah, but her real education is thirty years of watching people break down, survive, and rise.

Her practice sits where clinical depth meets courage. She works with psychedelic medicine to move clients through trauma and into a life that finally feels like their own, a modality that demands precision and trust in equal measure. With couples, she makes the invisible visible: the childhood wounds, inherited patterns, and unspoken histories that quietly erode connection, then hands them the tools to break the cycle for good.

Her reach runs well past the therapy room. She has keynoted couples retreats across the country and led private sessions alongside her oldest son, a nationally recognized speaker, pairing her clinical depth with his platform. And her rarest gift is one that cannot be taught: helping people find their voice, stand in their own power, and believe the life they want is theirs to claim.

Dustin and Lindsey
Founding Couple

Dustin & Lindsey

We met in 2018. What began as a quiet recognition between two people who had not yet learned how to choose themselves became, six years later, the most intentional relationship either of us has ever built.

By the time we chose each other for real, we had each already gone inward and rebuilt our own internal architecture, the private, no-audience kind of reconstruction that has no shortcut and no applause. We did not arrive holding unfinished business. We arrived as ourselves, and then found out what becomes possible when two whole people build something together on purpose.

Between us, we are parents to seven children. We are also practitioners, people who have gone through the same reconstruction we are inviting you into, not in workshops but in our actual lives, in the years that required it. In 2025 we co-created the Human Blueprint Architecture, a proprietary soul-mapping system we built first for ourselves, to understand who we are and who our children are. Every couple who comes to Vicuña receives their own Human Blueprint before the retreat begins, so you arrive already knowing the specific design you are working with, not a generic framework handed to everyone.

Dustin

Dustin is a systems architect, by profession and by instinct. He builds the infrastructure that makes structured growth possible, for organizations and for human beings. Through The Architect’s Path, the framework he created, Dustin works with the internal architecture that quietly runs a person’s life: the beliefs, the identity, the emotional baseline, the stories that run on repeat without ever being examined. He does not just help people see what is there. He teaches them how to rebuild it on purpose.

For the men at this retreat, that work lands somewhere specific. Most of what shows up as distance, reactivity, or disconnection in a relationship is not a character flaw. It is the output of an internal system nobody ever showed you how to read. Dustin gives you the map and the tools to change it.

Lindsey

Lindsey has spent years sitting with people in the hardest versions of themselves, the places where identity has collapsed, where the performance of a life has outpaced the living of it, where something real is trying to come through and does not yet have language. She knows that terrain because she has lived it.

In 2015, when her mother died of ovarian cancer, Lindsey founded Forget-Me-Not Angels, a nonprofit she built in six weeks with her brother while still numb from the loss. Every year on her mother’s birthday, they delivered hand-packed care bags, each carrying a letter from her mother, delivered to cancer patients at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and Primary Children’s Hospital. The foundation was featured on Fox 13 News. It taught her something that outlasted the foundation itself: the most powerful thing you can offer someone in the worst moment of their life is the experience of being truly seen.

That is still what she does. As a certified psychedelic integration coach, Lindsey works with what surfaces in the days and weeks after a deep experience, when ordinary life crowds back in and insight either takes root or slips away. She has walked this path herself, and she holds that space with a presence you feel before she says a word.

Together

This retreat is for couples who are done managing the surface and ready to go to the level where things actually change, two people willing to examine their own architecture honestly, in a setting built to hold it. If that is you, you probably already feel it. We built Vicuña for the relationship that becomes possible when both people rebuild from the foundation, at the same time, on purpose.

Bronson and Wren
Founding Couple

Bronson & Wren

They met in second grade, first friends, then each other's first boyfriend and girlfriend, then the ones who showed up when everything fell apart.

Read moreRead less

Through high school heartbreaks, early adulthood, and battles with addiction neither of them saw coming, they kept finding their way back to each other. Not because it was easy, but because even in the darkest seasons, they were the person the other one called.

When they chose each other for good, they brought everything with them, the love and the damage. Years of hurt that had never been addressed quietly eroded what they were building, until 2020 became the season that changed everything.

They made a decision to put each other first, above everyone and everything. They shut out outside noise, set boundaries, and built a life rooted in presence, nature, gratitude, and intentional family. What they have now didn't come from a perfect start. It came from two people who loved each other through the ugly, held each other to a higher standard, and broke the molds that were handed to them. They are still breaking them, for themselves, for their kids, and for the couples they now feel called to walk alongside.

Bronson

Bronson is a systems thinker by nature, the one who looks beneath the surface to find where the real problem lives. He became the person everyone turns to when the answer won't come, not because he forces it, but because he listens in a way most people never experience. He is an empath in the truest sense: people open up to him and trust him deeply, often before they understand why.

His own path through addiction, personal darkness, and the deliberate rebuilding of himself and his marriage gives him a depth no credential can replicate. At Vicuña, he creates space for men to examine the stories they've told themselves and who they're capable of becoming. He doesn't push. He holds space. And in that space, real change happens.

Wren

With more than two decades in finance, Wren built a career on earning trust, reading people accurately, and delivering in high-stakes rooms. After twenty-three years she made the deliberate choice to walk away for a deeper calling. That decision was not impulsive; it was the product of years of intentional reconstruction, the honest kind that has no shortcut.

Through personal hardship, marital struggle, and real darkness, she has consistently chosen growth over comfort and honesty over convenience, a discipline, not a personality trait. Today she channels it into homeschooling her three children, running her own apparel brand, and co-creating Vicuña Retreats and the Human Blueprint alongside Bronson, Dustin, and Lindsey. She brings professional credibility, hard-earned wisdom, and the empathic ability to make people feel genuinely seen. She doesn't lead from having all the answers, but from knowing what it takes to find them.

Together

Between them, Bronson and Wren bring something no curriculum can manufacture: the lived experience of nearly losing what they built, and the deliberate rebuilding of it into something stronger. At the core of everything they've built are their kids, the why behind every hard choice to go deeper and love better. They are not experts with all the answers. They are practitioners who rebuilt inside their own marriage and feel called to share it, because they believe the relationship you want is still within reach for any couple willing to choose it. Vicuña exists because they lived it. And because it changed everything.
